We welcome back to The Spin one of the most engaging trumpet players that the club has ever hosted: Paul Jordanous!
A regular on the Jazz, Funk, Pop and Soul scenes for the last 20 years, Paul has recorded on over 100 releases, including his own critically acclaimed debut album ‘And Now I Know’, of which the Blues & Soul Magazine wrote: “It has all the hallmarks of a classic; here is an artist who has paid his due, bided his time and struck when the moment was right. Jordanous's calibre as a masterful craftsman is a treasure to behold. Expect a lot more from this cat!”
The list of artists that Paul has worked with across all genres is truly enormous; here’s a random selection of just a few of Paul’s work colleagues: Lilly Dior, Paul Booth, Laurence Cottle, Kit Downes, New York Voices, Nick Heyward, Joss Stone, Carleen Anderson, the Hackney Colliery Band, Mica Paris, Gary Crosby Quintet, BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC Big Band…
Recently Paul has acted as a musician performing on Eastenders, on Disney performing on David Beckham’s Save Our Squad series, the Sex Pistol series “Pistol” directed by Danny Boyle, and sports show League Of Their Own with Freddie Flintoff, Jack Whitehall and Jimmy Corden. He appeared in BBC film “Dancing On The Edge” directed by Stephen Poliakoff and starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Matthew Goode & John Goodman.
This will be an uplifting gig, also featuring the great drummer, Alex Goodyear (who absolutely wowed the audiences at both the Jon Lloyd and the Art Themen gigs at OXTWO, earlier this year), the outrageously talented Pete Whittaker on organ (player of choice for John Etheridge!) and The Spin’s own guitarist, Pete Oxley!
Folks, this is not a gig that you’ll want to miss; as ever, this will sell out, so please, avoid disappointment and book NOW!!!
Returns Policy:
As these Sunday shows require extra admin on our side, we're unfortunately unable to accept ticket returns for these events. Thanks for your understanding.
A note about the venue:
- We have brought the ‘doors’ time forward to 6pm as food is popular at OXTWO. This allows for orders to be better staggered over the course of the evening.
- We seat people as much as possible on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. This means that those who buy tickets first are allocated the better seats (as opposed to that allocation being for those that show up first on the night)…so, BOOK NOW (and also save £5 off the ticket prices with our early bird deal)!!
- We are ready to support people who have additional accessibility needs, please let us know in advance via the contact form in order for our team of volunteers to design the assigned seating plan to accommodate you.
- There is no dedicated parking for the venue, but there are local car parks and on-street parking available in Summertown.
