The Spin is truly delighted in being able to welcome back the multi-award winning saxophonist, Tony Kofi with his outstanding quartet!

British Jazz Award-winning Derek Nash - bandleader, composer, arranger, record producer and engineer - is one of the UK’s busiest jazz musicians. He is leader of six bands, each with its own unique sound and featuring some of the top jazz musicians in the UK today.

One of the hardest working, most successful (and brilliant) saxophonists in the country revisits The Spin: the amazing Theo Travis with his band, ‘Double Talk’.

Folks…this might just be the ‘gig of the Spin’s history’!!!

Firstly, bandleader Shez Raja is an exceptional bass player of crazy ability, imagination and inventiveness! 

Meier is one of those musicians who has deep-dived into many genres of music, resulting in a unique approach to the guitar that encompasses a mastery of jazz, Turkish idioms and metal! (He has also studied classical and flamenco, so this is all to be found in the sonic melting pot too!).

The Spin welcomes back Oxford’s deep-groove-meisters, Time Is Of The Essence for their annual outing to the club!

For this special Sunday gig at Tap Social, The Spin will be presenting a top-drawer quartet, fronted by one of the most celebrated saxophonists in the UK – and internationally: Mark Lockheart.

Described by Pat Metheny as “one of the best guitarists in the world”, John continues to thrill audiences across the world – as he has been over the decades, performing with such luminaries as Stephane Grapelli, Nigel Kennedy, Andy Summers (of The Police), John Williams, Soft Machine….and indeed, Pat Metheny!

Following last year’s outstanding gig with this band, we welcome back to The Spin, the UK’s hardest-working jazz musician – who also happens to be widely recognised as one of the greatest guitar players, the UK has ever produced: Nigel Price!

Re-Creations is led by one of the most brilliantly creative musicians on this (or any other) planet: John Law! As a pianist, he is a formidable exponent of pretty much any style you’d care to consider, having been a prize-winning classical pianist as a child, to being one of the leading exponents of contemporary jazz today.
