Alex Garnett’s ‘Bunch of Fives’

A killer band with a US-meets-UK star line-up; ‘Bunch of Fives’ features the twin tenor saxes of Alex Garnett (Van Morrison, Rolling Stones etc) from London, and Tim Armacost (Maria Schneider and David Murray Bands) from New York. The rhythm section is also trans-Atlantic featuring three of the best players on either side of the water – Mike Janisch (New York) on bass as well as the great Liam Noble (piano) and James Maddren on drums.
The playing is steeped in jazz but the band brings some new and exciting repertoire. All these players are right at the top of the international jazz circuit so expect a stunning show. The band come to Oxford on the back of an extended UK tour.
