Dave O’Higgins With the Spin Special

Anybody that is a sax player, and anybody that is a fan of great sax players will know about Dave O’Higgins - for all the right reasons: Dave has quite rightly been acknowledged as one of the greatest exponents in the UK (and beyond) of this instrument for several decades!

But… just in case Dave hasn’t been on your radar, let us lure you to this gig by giving you the briefest synopsis of his work. Dave has:

Toured/recorded with: Joey Calderazzo, Joe Locke, Adam Nussbaum, Joe Lovano, Phil Woods, Jimmy Smith, Nancy Wilson, Peggy Lee, Kurt Elling, Wayne Shorter, Eddie Gomez, Stephane Grappelli, Michel Legrand, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra. He has released 20 CDs as leader to date. He also wrote and produced the last Matt Bianco album, “Gravity”.

That is a small segment of Dave’s career which includes a vast discography. Here is how one national paper recently summed up Dave’s musicianship:

This promises to be a great gig - also featuring the virtuoso keyboardist, Frank Harrison! 

Plus…this will be the last gig where we will have the pleasure of including the fabulous Louis Stringer on bass! Louis has been a real boon for the club and we are thrilled that the reason he will no longer be with us is due to his having secured a scholarship for a masters at the Berklee School of Jazz in America!
