Saxophonist Jon Lloyd formed this wonderful Quintet in late 2009. The group features some of the finest musicians in the UK at the height of their game - pianist John Law is well known for his brilliant Art of Sound Trio, drummer Asaf Sirkis works with Tim Garland, Gwilym Simcock, Jeff Berlin and Gilad Atzmon. Guitarist Rob Palmer and electric bassist Rodney Teague complete the quintet.
The band cover a lot of territory - from ECM, through post-bop, modal and free-jazz and into more composed areas. The music is energetic and intelligent contemporary jazz. A great band to kick start our programme.
