Julian Nicholas With The Spin Trio

Saxophonist, composer and band-leader, Julian Nicholas has just been heard on Radio 3 live from Ronnie Scott’s with the great ‘Loose Tubes’.   He leads the Jazz Foundation at Chichester College, co-curates the South Coast Jazz Festival with Claire Martin O.B.E., and is currently launching   the all-new ‘Cloggz’ album with Mark Edwards.

The legendary Bobby Wellins says of him “…his beautiful and creative playing makes Julian one of my favorite tenor   saxophonists.”

Nina Simone requested that Julian support her for a second year running at ‘The Dome’, Brighton in 1991.

He is currently performing at ‘The Sage’, Gateshead with ‘Loose Tubes’, the Ropetackle Arts Centre with Ian Shaw and Liane Carroll, the Oxford Playhouse and Dean St. ‘Pizza Express’ with Claire Martin, the ‘606’ with Nikki Iles, and the ‘Vortex’ with Eddie  Parker.

Julian has toured internationally under his own name and with Carleen Anderson, ‘Loose Tubes’, ‘Carmina’, and Emil Vitlicky. He has countless recording credits to his  name.
