Top alto saxophonist, Martin Speake, has been forging groundbreaking projects with leading musicians from the US and Europe for over two decades. His cool yet compelling style and his original writing have led him to work with legendary players such as Paul Motian, one of the most innovative drummers of our time, and Bobo Stenson, the celebrated Swedish pianist.
Martin first came to the public's attention when he played with Itchy Fingers, the sax quartet in the late 80s and early 90s, Since that time, he has covered an extraordinary range of musical terrains, and in the last few years has enjoyed album releases with the legendary German label, ECM, and led a succession of wonderful groups.
It is a pleasure to welcome him back to the club.
