Nicolas Meier World Group

Nicolas Meier is without a doubt, one of the most original and brilliant guitar players on the planet! He has forged a personal voice on the instrument, derived from his expansive studies of music in classical, jazz, flamenco, Middle-Eastern and rock genres. He can play utterly convincingly, from super-sensitive ballads on nylon-string guitar to absolute mega-shredding ‘metal’…and anything in between!

Meier has been a favourite at The Spin on many occasion, bringing his ‘world jazz’ flavours to the club. These bands have included such stars from the jazz world as Gilad Atzmon, Tim Garland and Jimmy Haslip (of The Yellowjackets). In recent years, Meier was a member of Jeff Beck’s band, touring the world for three years in that ensemble (and recording on the outstanding DVD release, ‘Live in Japan’).

Meier’s groups are always completely first class - and this iteration is no exception! It features the extraordinarily virtuosic bass player Kevin Glasgow along with masters of their instruments, Richard Jones (violin) and Demi Garcia (percussion).
