Steve Waterman is a brilliant trumpeter and needs little introduction to the Spin audience, being at the forefront of British jazz for over three decades; he continues to dazzle club and festival audiences up and down the country with this playing. Steve leads his own small groups and 18 piece big band, and has 8 albums to his name and as a sideman, Steve has worked with the likes of John Surman, Carla Bley, Andy Sheppard and Mal Waldron.
What makes him unique is his ability to inflect his improvisations with contemporary and older styles of trumpet playing; he blends a huge range from the traditions of trumpet playing and has released albums that celebrate Buddy Bolden, the 'first' jazz musician as well as deeply contemporary work.
