The Alexandra Ridout New York Band

We welcome to The Spin the extraordinarily talented trumpeter, Alexandra Ridout with her band from New York!

Alex won the BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year in 2016 and ever since, her star has been meteorically rising. She has now won numerous awards, including most recently, the ‘Next Jazz Legacy 2025 Award through New Music USA’.

Alex’s distinctive trumpet voice is sought out by numerous prominent musicians, such as the totally outstanding Samara Joy (USA touring and TV appearances), Yazz Ahmed, Zoe Rahman and the world famous jazz trumpeter Dave Douglas, with whom she performed at the International Festival of New Trumpet Music in 2024 and recorded an album with his new project ‘Alloy’ in 2025.

This is a band of highly talented musicians from New York; the other three members collectively have worked with such A-list luminaries as: Bill Frisell, Linda May Han Oh, Gilad Hekselman and Walter Smith III.
