Tristan Banks Quartet

Wednesday 25th June 2024

Following the brilliant quartet of John Law’s Re-Creations, The Spin brings to you another totally top-flight band led by the outstanding drummer Tristan Banks.

In this contemporary jazz outfit, Banks draws on over 30 years of experience as a sideman for many Grammy award-winning and multi-platinum selling artists. Mixing influences from the jazz, latin and fusion idioms, the music is a unique combination of high-octane virtuosic performance and sublimely melodic composition.

The band features up front, the absolute go-to saxophonist of today, Paul Booth!  Paul has toured, performed and recorded around the world with Steve Winwood, The Eagles, Eric ClaptonSteely Dan, Carlos SantanaBonnie Raitt, Chaka KhanJamiroquai, Gregory Porter, Eddie Henderson, Geoffrey Keezer…and the list goes on and on!

Also featured is the brilliant pianist, John Crawford. John is one of the finest pianists on the scene and brings impressive technique and musicianship to his blend of jazz, flamenco and Latin. He has worked with the likes of Latin legend Airto Moreira as well as UK based artists such as Snowboy and Roberto Pla. In addition, his non-Latin work has seen him performing with Bjork, Tanita Tikarem and Kirsty McColl, to name just a few.

Concluding the band is the much in-demand bassist, Davide Mantovani. Davide has performed with some of the most illustrious Jazz, World and Pop artists around, for example: Lisa StansfieldSeckou Keita, Zoe RahmanAndy Sheppard, Jason RebelloNana Vasconcelos, Alex Wilson, Antonio Forcione and many others.

You’ll get the picture from the above…but don’t just take our word for it; here is a small selection of quotes from the press to back up The Spin’s booking:
