Adam Glasser, Rob Luft & Keith Fairbairn

Thursday 25th February 2016

We have three remarkable musicians coming as our guests for this gig; Adam Glasser (keyboards and harmonica), Rob Luft (guitar) and Keith Fairbairn on percussion.  A hip, happening and thoroughly fantastic evening is in store as we move between township, Brazilian and jazz grooves.

Adam Glasser has for most of his working life split his musical direction between  the sound of South African township music and jazz; he grew up in South Africa and though based in London for many years, has increasingly been working in SA over the last few years - in 2010, he and his quartet won the SAMA Best Contemporary Jazz Album, and over the years, Adam has played with artists such as Joe Zawinul, Martha Reeves, Hugh Masekela, and Sting.

With Adam comes a guitarist that is creating waves on the London jazz scene. Rob Luft came through the ranks of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and since his gone on to play with Loose Tubes, depping for John Parricelli, and almost everyone else. A name to watch out for.

Our third guest is one of the finest latin percussionists in the country; Keith has played with everyone from Courtney Pine to Kid Creole, via London Sinfonietta and Mike Oldfield. A sensational percussionist.

A wonderful mix of jazz, some township inspired tunes and much else. A great gig beckons.
