Alex Hutton With The Spin Trio
Thursday 4th June 2015
'Alex Hutton makes vividly intelligent music that stands out head and shoulders in a crowded scene...' - Bryan Morton
Alex is one of the foremost pianists in London; he comes to Oxford with a brand new album Magna Carta Suite under his belt that he is promoting at venues around the country. The latest CD is the fourth release under his own name.
His career in jazz took off after a prolonged stay in New York. He returned to the UK and in the last 15 years has gone on to work with the likes of Pete King, Jim Mullen, Dave O'Higgins and Art Themen. It is however for his own bands that he has become best known; his recent recordings feature some stellar rhythm sections such as Asaf Sirkis/Yuri Golubev and Mike Janitsch/ Enzo Zirilli.
Regular current gigs in London include the 606 Club and the Verdi Room at the Royal Albert Hall! A compelling player and engaging composer.
