Damon Brown is one of the finest trumpeters in the UK and one of the busiest musicians on the scene. In 2010 he undertook a tour of South East Asia and followed that with touring the UK, gigging as solo artist and also in the company of Steve Grossman, one time Miles Davis saxophonist and one of the great names in contemporary jazz.

Damon began to get noticed in the music scene in the 80s but not for his jazz playing; at that point he was working with reggae/ska artists such as Desmond Dekker, Prince Buster and the Specials. Although now Damon is known internationally for his jazz playing, his roots in dance music still inform his approach to playing and composing. It was in 1999 that Damon Brown appeared with his band at The Red Sea International Jazz Festival in Israel sharing centre stage billing with Chick Corea and Kenny Garrett and began from that point to get work at major international jazz festivals. In the last few years, Damon has been resident in Paris, gigging at all the major jazz venues in the city with top French musicians but now has returned to these shores. A simply wonderful trumpeter with a great sense of groove – do not miss.
