James Allsopp With The Spin Trio
Thursday 21st July 2016
A key figure amongst the new generation of British jazz musicians. James first came to public attention, as a sax player and composer, leading his band Fraud whose album was shortlisted for Best Record in the 2007 BBC Jazz Awards.
More recently he has led the quintet "The Golden Age of Steam", a phenomenal group which can do just about anything, veering between delicate ambient textures, stomping punk freak outs and intricately woven contrapuntal textures.
James has played with a bewildering away of great artists over the last decade: Django Bates, Polar Bear, Tom Rainey, Jamie Cullum, Kenny Wheeler, Mark Lockheart, Ingrid Laubrock and many more.
A great player to complete our summer programme.
