A superb trumpeter, Nick has been a leading player on the London jazz scene for many years. Known to festival audiences all over Europe for his playing as featured soloist with the James Taylor Quartet, Nick is also busy leading his own group, Trogon.
His versatility as a trumpet player has meant his playing alongside many of the greats that we have all seen and heard including George Russell, Bob Brookmeyer, John Hollenbeck, the New York Voices, Mike Gibbs and Dave Douglas. Over the last few years, Nick has featured in a new quartet from saxophonist Stan Sulzmann and recorded with vocalist Christine Tobin in her interpretations of Leonard Cohen songs. As an acclaimed musical director of large ensembles, Nick conducts the Stan Sulzmann Big Band (Neon Orchestra) and the Troyka large ensemble, “Troykestra”.
