Resolution 88

The Spin has, this season, been presenting - with great audience success - some of the finest players of the ‘New Jazz Generation’. Anybody that heard Alex Ridout, Alex Hitchcock, and, at the last gig, the superb Harry Greene will attest to that statement! For this date, we have now secured another superb outfit (also featuring Alex Hitchcock on tenor sax): Resolution 88.

This is a seriously funky outfit that draw their inspiration from Herbie Hancock’s ‘Headhunters’ band. Led by keyboardist Tom O’Grady, this band has already played many international festivals, opening for such heavyweights as Snarky Puppy, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke and the Yellow Jackets!

As one member of The Spin’s audience observed couple of days ago about another great saxophonist the club had put on: “I first heard Marius Neset at the Spin; in a few days, he will be playing at the Proms in the Albert Hall”! That’s right: with such players as Harry Greene - and now these guys - you have the opportunity to hear the potential super-stars of the future in the intimate setting of our little club!
