‘The Expansive Brew-Up!’
Thursday 6th October 2022
Ladies and Gentlemen, we are very sad to announce that this will be the last gig at our favoured venue, (TOAD), for the foreseeable future. We are therefore intending to end this phase of the club in some sort of glory, and have put together a stonking six-piece band by way of celebration!
Here is the line up:
Mark Lockheart ~ tenor and soprano saxophones
Frank Harrison ~ keyboards
Pete Oxley ~ guitars
Ben Hazleton ~ basses
Rick Finlay ~ drums
Keith Fairbairn ~ percussion.
The band will perform a programme of joyous fare - many being favourites of yours (as a response from comments we have heard from various members of the audience over the last year or so), including works by Lyle Mays, Mike Walker, Ralph Towner and Pat Metheny.
The band is six of the best for you, folks….but just a line about Mark Lockheart (as he hasn’t performed at TOAD before): Mark kicked off his career as a featured saxophonist with the ground-breaking band, Loose Tubes. He later went on to co-form the highly successful quartet, ‘Perfect Houseplants’ and has never ceased to be regarded as one of the most creative saxophonists in the UK.
