John Law brings his new group to the club to launch the Spin's spring season. This fantastic band does what its name implies - fresh reworkings of a host of intriguing material.
John is one of the most respected jazz pianists and composers in Europe; from his beginnings as a classical prodigy and training to be a concert pianist, John turned toward jazz and improvised music in his twenties and since then has appeared at more than 50 international jazz festivals, and worked with some of the finest jazz artists around - Gwilym Simcock, Jason Rebello, Andy Sheppard and Tim Garland, to name a few.
His new project, 'Recreations' brings together Sam Crockatt on tenor, Billy Weir on drums and James Agg on bass. The group re-imagine a varied set of tunes by jazz composers and beyond.
