Two Spin favourites come to the club for our final show before Christmas. Polly Gibbons and James Pearson bring their customary, classy set of standards, blues and originals for what has become something a fixture for us in our last date before the break.
Polly is fast becoming recognised on both sides of the Atlantic as a top class vocalist. She has performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts in London, and worked at many of the leading jazz venues in the States, including a stint at the iconic Birdland in NYC. Polly was recently nominated as jazz vocalist of the year by JazzFM, and has three albums out under her own name - two with the celebrated American jazz label, Resonance Records.
James Pearson, one of the outstanding pianists of his generation and musical director of Ronnie Scotts club, has been Polly's long term collaborator and accompanist. A stunning musician, James has worked with everyone from Sir Paul McCartney to Wynton Marsalis, and has over fifty album credits to his name.
