Roger Beaujolais With The Spin Trio
Thursday 17th November 2016
An eponymous gig, as we welcome the effervescent Roger Beaujolais to celebrate the arrival of Beaujolais Nouveau, the wine that we believe was named after him.
Roger is the most celebrated vibes player in the UK and a stunning performer, and virtuoso vibraphonist. His playing career began with the jump jive band, The Chevalier Brothers, who in the 80s played more gigs than most musicians play in a lifetime. In the 90s, Roger began to get the jazz world talking - Gary Burton, the doyen of vibes playing, was very complimentary about Roger in Downbeat, and the gigs rolled in - sessions with Robert Plant, Fairground Attraction and so on, complemented his heavy jazz schedule.
For this gig, we will have unfeasible quantities of the new Beaujolais at unfeasible prices.
