We welcome to The Spin another new ‘supergroup’ led by the brilliant keyboardist Roland Perrin!
Roland has had a prolific career ranging from latin to classical and world music. In this latter category, he has toured with renowned international stars, such as Juan de Marcos (Buena Vista Social Club), Dudu Pukwana (South Africa), Aster Aweke (Ethiopia) and Najma (India),
In the classical arena, Roland has received major commissions for choir, big band and orchestra including ‘songs from the cage’ - premiered at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London and ‘Rio Amazonas’ premiered at The Barbican, London.
In jazz, Roland has specialised in Latin and African fare; This is shaped by a talent for arranging of the highest order, reflecting an understanding of both the great jazz and classical composers. (Roland has been described as the Gershwin of the 21st Century).
This will be a fiery night of great playing by this superb 6-piece band! The full personnel is:
