Theo Travis With The Spin Trio
A pleasure to have Theo Travis join us for the last date of this programme before we break for the summer.
Theo has consistently been one of the top saxophonists in the UK and Europe for over two decades. His fantastic playing sees him touring and recording with the Soft Machine Legacy Band.
John Parricelli With The Spin Trio
John Parricelli is one of the key figures on the British jazz scene of the last 20 years. He came to prominence in Loose Tubes, the big band that changed much of the sound and feel of jazz in this country in the 1990s.
Jon Shenoy's Draw by Four
The club welcomes a great band to the club for the first time. With a line-up steeped in tradition, Jon Shenoy's Draw By Four takes the classic 60s organ quartet into brand new territory where the compositions from leader Jon Shenoy (Ivo Neame Large Ensemble) mix contrapuntal bass lines and rhythmic hooks with thoughtful lyricism.
Art Themen & Rod Hart With The Spin Trio
An icon in British jazz, Art Themen, remains a musical hero for so many players. One of the greats over the last few decades and playing as great and fresh as ever...he is a remarkable improviser and it's always a pleasure to have him play the club. Another great pleasure is to have Rod Hart playing with us on piano; Rod is one of the key jazz musicians on the Brighton scene - a superb standards player with great feel and time.

Christian Brewer With The Spin Trio
A superb alto saxophonist, Christian Brewer, has been at the forefront of the London jazz scene for many years. As well as leading his own groups, Christian plays with the likes of Damon Brown, Jim Mullen, and many other top jazzers. Not to be missed.

Fulvio Sigurta With The Spin Trio

It is a delight to welcome Italian trumpeter, Fulvio Sigurta to the club for the first time. A brilliant musician - Fulvio won a scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, before coming to London and winning prizes galore at the Guildhall School of Music.
Jonathan Kreisberg Group
One of the most compelling performers in modern jazz, it is a pleasure to welome Jonathan Kreisberg and his group, once again, to The Spin- one of only a handful of gigs in the UK before the band go to Europe.
Phil Peskett With The Spin Trio
Phil Peskett is a thrilling pianist. After studying with Simon Purcell at the Guildhall, Phil became an almost instant fixture on the London jazz/funk circuit.
Byron Wallen With The Spin Trio
Byron Wallen is one of the foremost trumpeters in British jazz; studying with Peter Ruderforth in London and with Donald Byrd and Jon Faddis in New York in the mid to late 80s, Byron has gone on to tour and record with some of the most celebrated musicians of our time.

Quartet Brasil is award winning Welsh pianist Huw Warren’s celebration of his lifelong love affair with the music of Brazil. Huw brings a stunning group to the club that includes Mark Lockheart (saxes), Dudley Phillips (bass) and Zoot Warren (drums).
Imogen Ryall & Julian Nicholas With The Spin Trio

One of the highlights of the season...Jasper Høiby’s stunning new group, Fellow Creatures, comes to the club. The band features both young and seasoned lights of the London jazz scene.
Alex Hawkins/ Jez Cook/ Raf Mizraki/ Mark Doffman
Alexander Hawkins is a pianist, organist, and composer, recently labelled as ‘one of the most unique voices in contemporary music’, whose work has reached a ‘dazzling new apex’ (Downbeat, US).
His highly individual soundworld reconciles both his love of free improvisation and fascination with composition and structure. His Ensemble, his main project as bandleader, has been described as ‘one of the most vividly distinctive in contemporary jazz’.
Pete Oxley- Nick Meier Quartet
Nick Meier is a genuine guitar virtuoso who in the last few years has been touring the world with Jeff Beck and recording with Yellow Jackets bassist, Jimmy Haslip and drum super-star, Vinnie Colaiuta.
However…..he chooses to spend a great deal of his time writing, recording and touring with the Spin’s own Pete Oxley! They have just released their third and most ambitious album to date: a ‘double’ entitled ‘The Colours of Time’ which features one disc in their duo format and the second in quartet with Raph Mizraki on basses and Paul Cavaciuti on drums.
Frank Griffith With The Spin Trio
Frank Griffith is regarded as one of the finest players in the UK. Born in the US, he played for many years on the New York scene, and worked with legendary musicians such as Ron Carter, Buddy Rich and Mel Torme.

His facility and imagination at the piano put him in the very highest company, and it is not coincidental that in the last few years, he has been playing at some of the most prestigious venues in New York and the Eastern seaboard of the States.

Two of the most celebrated musicians on the jazz scene, Alan Barnes and Gilad Atzmon, bring their new group, Lowest Common Denominator' to the club. Gilad and Alan are often seen as inhabiting two very different parts of the jazz spectrum.
