Nigel has performed over 500 times at Ronnie Scotts, so if that in itself doesn't say something...!!
Theo Travis
The incredible tenor saxophonist returns to The Spin!
Theo Travis will need no introduction to anybody that has an interest in the highest level of jazz, jazz-rock, or - dare we mentin the word - prog! But these catagories need to be mentioned as we are talking associations (world tours!) with, for example: David Gilmour (yeah - he of Pink Floyd); Soft Machine; Gong; Robert Fripp...

The Spin celebrates 20 years of bringing jazz to Oxford, and we hope you will join us for a special night. The great John Etheridge brings his phenomenal guitar playing skills to help us celebrate - John remains one of the iconic heroes of British jazz, working with everyone from Stephane Grapelli to Soft Machine, via John Williams (classical guitar hero) and Andy Summers (guitar hero in the Police). John was not so long ago described by Metheny as one of the greatest guitar players in the world...amen to that. We are also delighted to be joined by the awesome Keith Fairbairn on percussion to add his own particular magic to proceedings; one of the finest percussionists in the UK over many years, it is great to have him join us for the birthday proceedings.

Our pleasure as always to welcome the supreme Damon Brown on trumpet. Damon's playing is steeped in the blues and bebop but always sounds utterly contemporary. A wonderful lyrical player, Damon has been a fixture on the national and international jazz scene for many years.
