Big Colors Big Band With Special Guest Brandon Allen
With a host of new numbers hot off the press, Big Colors comes to the club for the final Sunday night extravaganza before Christmas. The band will be playing new tunes by Metheny, Zappa, Corea and many others, it promises to be a memorable evening of contemporary big band jazz at its finest.

Phil Robson With The Spin Trio
Phil regularly attracts the plaudits that only a handful of jazz performers seem to get. A long time collaborator with Julian Siegel in the groundbreaking band Partisans, and with the wonderful vocalist Christine Tobin, Phil has made his mark as an innovative and thoroughly stylish improviser.

John Burgess With The Spin Trio
John came to prominence after studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and until his return to his native Scotland, divided his time between both sides of the Atlantic. On this side he as recorded and toured with the great Harry Beckett as well as with other jazz luminaries such as Liam Noble and Mario Castronari. On the other side of the pond, he has released albums with heavyweights such as Henry Franklin Jnr with whom John worked during an extensive stay on the West Coast of the States.

Beaujolais Nouveau Night Party With Roger Beaujolais & The Spin Trio
2013 sees the release of Roger's new quartet album 'Mind The Gap' featuring top names in British jazz such as Robin Aspland, Winston Clifford and Simon Thorpe, and his touring commitments continue unabated and include work with Jerry Dammers' AKA Spatial Orchestra.

Zoe Rahman Quartet feat. Alec Dankworth, Gene Calderazzo and Idris Rahman
Zoe Rahman is one of the most exciting pianists working in British jazz; winner of the Best Jazz Act in the 2012 MOBO awards, collaborator with Courtney Pine and a mesmerizing performer, Zoe comes to the JDP with the stunning Alec Dankworth on bass, Gene Calderazzo on drums and Idris Rahman on clarinet.

Adam Glasser Band
Adam brings his South African vibe to the Spin with a wonderful band playing township rhythms, freewheeling grooves and some memorable songs. A multi-instrumentalist - Adam is know for his keyboards playing and his harmonica work; this has seen him play with some of the great artists of the day such as Sting, Joe Zawinul, Hugh Masekela and many more.

Jez Cook With The Spin Trio
Jez Cook is the guitarist's guitarist and an exceptional player He works regularly with John Etheridge and Gary Potter, two of the most virtuosic players on the scene who both demand Jez's services when they go out on the road. At home in styles as various as hot club, contemporary jazz and fusion, Jez has been employed by everyone from George Harrison (!), Jools Holland and many more.

Andre Canniere With The Spin Trio

American trumpeter Andre Canniere has established himself as a leading figure on the UK jazz scene and is arguably one of the finest composers of his generation. Prior to his move to London in 2008, Andre lived in New York City where he worked with artists such as Maria Schneider, Bjorkestra, Ted Poor, Ingrid Jensen, Donny McCaslin and Darcy James Argue.

Dave O'Higgins With The Spin Trio
Dave is one of the most popular and respected British players on the international jazz scene, having recorded 13 albums as leader with various lineups. He cut his teeth with NYJO, Cleo Laine, Roadside Picnic and Mezzoforte and went on to work with Jim Mullen, Ray Charles, Martin Taylor, Itchy Fingers, Frank Sinatra, Salif Keita, Jimmy Smith, Joe Locke, Kyle Eastwood, Jamie Cullum, Stan Tracey, Matthew Herbert, Chico Chagas and the BBC Big Band to name only a few.
Big Colors Big Band
Big Colors plays hip arrangements of everything from Steely Dan to Ellington. The band features a host of top players including MOBO award winning saxophonist, Adam Waldmann and a clutch of past and present NYJO regulars. Its a great band, playing cool charts with some amazing featured soloists.

Josh Kemp With The Spin Trio

Josh Kemp has emerged as a saxophonist and composer of real inventiveness who brings a warm tone, and a wonderful lyrical approach to improvisation. His latest album, Tone Poetry, featuring Tim Lapthorn on Piano and Mick Hutton on Bass is due for release in 2013.

François Bourassa Quartet
Direct from Montreal, François Bourassa, composer and pianist, brings one of Canada’s most active recording and touring jazz ensembles featuring André Leroux (saxes), Guy Boisvert (bass) and Greg Ritchie (drums). Attracting this amazing group to the club represents another coup in our bringing world class musicians to The Spin as the band undertake a major European tour.

Cleveland Watkiss & Pat Thomas
A pleasure to have Cleveland Watkiss play the Spin for the first time and welcome Pat Thomas back to the club, joining Mark Doffman and Raf Mizraki as part of the rhythm section.
Cleveland is considered to be one of the finest male vocalist in the world of jazz, and the breadth and depth of his work is testimony to that claim.

Tim Whitehead With The Spin Trio
A wonderful guest to kick off our Autumn programme - Tim Whitehead is, in the view of many, at the very front rank of UK saxophonists of the last 25 years; the hallmark of his playing is his ability to bring together incredible musical sophistication and powerful, direct emotion.

Ross Stanley With The Spin Trio
In less than a decade since Ross completed his studies at the Guildhall School of Music, he has become one of THE in demand keyboards players in the UK. He has gone on to work with many of the leading players on the UK scene such as Will Vinson, Dennis Rollins, Guy Barker, Joel Frahm, Liane Carroll, Stan Sulzman, Steve Arguelles, John Paracelli, Bobby Wellins, Clark Tracey, as well as being a regular member of the Jim Mullen Organ Trio, the Mark McKnight Organ Quartet and the Jacqui Dankworth band.
For those of you who don't know Ross, he has become first call pianist and Hammond player for the finest jazz artists around.

A fantastic saxophonist - Rob Townsend has performed with many of the great jazz artists such as American stars, Eddie Henderson and Sam Rivers,and British heavyweights such as Django Bates, Mark Lockheart, Iain Ballamy and Tim Garland. He plays regularly with iconic acid-jazz organist James Taylor and Arnie Somogyi's award winning band Ambulance.
