Ross Stanley & Steve Fishwick With The Spin Rhythm Section
Ross Stanley comes to the club this Thursday with one of the finest trumpeters around. Steve Fishwick, deps for our own Pete Oxley, as Ross and Steve joins forces with Mark and Raph.
For those of you who don't know Ross, he has become first call pianist and Hammond player for the finest jazz artists around.

The Impossible Gentlemen

This must be one of the gigs of the year in Oxford...the most exciting and accomplished Anglo-US collaboration for many years sees Grammy Award Winners, Steve Rodby (ex Pat Metheny) on bass and Adam Nussbaum (ex John Scofield, Michael Brecker) on drums join forces with three of the finest players in the UK - Gwilym Simcock (keyboards), Mike Walker (guitar) and Iain Dixon (saxes).

Benn Clatworthy & John Donaldson
Benn Clatworthy and John Donaldson are two of the most exciting musicians on either side of the Atlantic. Benn has been resident in Los Angeles since 1980; his career as a tenor saxophonist really took off when he was recommended to Horace Silver in the late 80s and from that point, he went on to work with the likes of Cedar Walton, Bobby Shew, Otmaro Ruiz and many great artists. An extraordinary saxophonist, over here on a short tour, and not to be missed.

Julian Nicholas With The Spin Trio
Julian Nicholas has been a Spin favourite since the very first Spin year with both audiences and the house band alike. He was in the original incarnation of the ground-breaking British band Loose Tubes and now has a starring role in the group's current phoenix-like resurgence.

Time Is Of The Essence
We kick off a stunning Autumn season with the groovesome 'organ band', 'Time Is Of The Essence'.
The band features one of the tastiest tenor players on the UK scene, Ollie Weston. Ollie's credits run a whole smorgasbord of styles, including stints with Jamie Cullum, Amy Winehouse, Sax Appeal, Stornaway and current hipsters, The Hackney Colliery Band! A player with a distinctive muscular, yet thoroughly soulful sound.

James Allsopp With The Spin Trio
A key figure amongst the new generation of British jazz musicians. James first came to public attention, as a sax player and composer, leading his band Fraud whose album was shortlisted for Best Record in the 2007 BBC Jazz Awards.

Nick Smart With The Spin Trio
A superb trumpeter, Nick has been a leading player on the London jazz scene for many years. Known to festival audiences all over Europe for his playing as featured soloist with the James Taylor Quartet, Nick is also busy leading his own group, Trogon.

Snake Davis & Ross Stanley With The Spin Trio

Robin Aspland With The Spin Trio
Robin Aspland has been and remains first choice pianist for the biggest name players in British jazz, present and past - Dave O'Higgins, Ronnie Scott, Cleo Laine, Kenny Wheeler and so on. From across the pond, Robin has accompanied George Coleman and Bobby Watson and Arturo Sandoval.

Simon Spillett With Alex Hutton, Mark Hodgson and Mark Doffman
Described by the late Humphrey Lyttelton as "formidable," Simon Spillett has taken the British jazz scene by storm in the last decade; in addition to playing festivals and club dates around the country, Simon leads his own quartet. He has won a clutch of awards for his amazing playing, including the tenor saxophone category of the British Jazz Awards (2011), Jazz Journal magazine's Critic's Choice CD of the Year (2009) and Rising Star in the BBC Jazz Awards (2007).
